When I find charming twins, I always adopt them both. They seem to need each other for moral support. These two little chairs (Goodwill of course) came equipped with tres bland seats. Since bland violates my aesthetic, I reupholstered them with a Guatemalan ikat textile in mostly orange, lavender, and white. But of course, I couldn't stop there. I had to bury that blandness under something even more spiffy. Inspired by art from Mexico celebrating the Day of the Dead, I created Senor y Senorita Huesos.
HE has the Heisenberg thang going on, along with an obligatory Tough Guy cigarette dangling from his bony lip. SHE sports a flowery fascinator and earrings. The Happy Couple is made of felted wool cut from thrift shop sweaters I boiled and agitated and otherwise abused.
